And so
ends Chapter 2.
Ray and I have been steadily working on Chapter 3 since about late October.
With Chapter 3, we really want to avoid delays in updates- simply because
the story (and where it's going in Chapter 3) can't afford to be delayed
for days, weeks whathaveyou. So we're not going to start posting it
until the inking, coloring & scripting is done.
Right now, I have 33 of the 58 pages projected for Chapter 3 in various
stages of inking/pencilling. Tonight, I plan on scanning the first ten
pages or so in, since they're fully inked, so that I can begin coloring
them. We've had the outline for the chapter done for quite some time
now, however the scripting for Chapter 3 only extends to about page
8. Go figure.
So we're going to push to get Chapter 3 done soon- certainly not by the
end of this month, but hopefully sometime in February or March. If you want
to have immediate notification of when Chapter 3 will begin, you can always
click on the ComicAlert button on the main page, or add us to your list
of favorites if you have a 'The Webcomics List' account.
Anywhoo, for those of you who visit and read regularly, we'd like to
say thanks for sticking it out this far. :) And for those of you who
are visiting for the first time today, welcome aboard and feel free
to start the story from the beginning!
I've babbled on a bit too much probably, but before I go, i'll leave
you with a hint of sorts concerning Chapter 3.
Que
Sera Sera, by Doris Day
When I was just a little girl,
I asked my mother, 'What will I be?
'Will I be pretty?
'Will I be rich?'
Here's what she said to me:
'Que sera, sera,
'Whatever will be, will be;
'The future's not ours to see.
'Que sera, sera,
'What will be, will be.'
When I grew up and fell in love,
I asked my sweetheart, 'What lies ahead?
'Will we have rainbows
'day after day?'
Here's what my sweetheart said:
'Que sera, sera,
'Whatever will be, will be;
'The future's not ours to see.
'Que sera, sera,
'What will be, will be.'
Now I have children of my own,
They ask their mother, 'What will I be?
'Will I be handsome?
'Will I be rich?'
I tell them tenderly:
'Que sera, sera,
'Whatever will be, will be;
The future's not ours to see,
'Que sera, sera,
What will be, will be,
Que sera, sera!

Whee! Big update recently for us- the newest five pages of N&J are
up. I waited until all five were complete before posting them because
I flt (along with Ray) that they deserved to go up at the same time,
instead of putting two pages up a week.
A big 'hello' to anyone stopping by (and possibly decided to keep visiting)
thanks to the folks who put together A Miracle of Science. I have no
idea how they found us, and in truth, I didn't even notice the spike
in visitors until I found out the new location of our logs on the Keenspace
server and saw the influx of people coming over thanks to the link.
Anyways, we just want to say THANK YOU! to everyone who's visited Jon
and Mark for linking us. :)
Finally, two more announcements. First, i've removed the YDKSpacers
dropdown from the main page. Why, you ask? It's because the reason for
starting the dropdown - banding together newbies on Keenspace solely
because we were on the YDK server- is gone. There is no YDK server anymore,
and so i've pulled the dropdown and closed signups. The code will still
work, and people can still keep it on their pages if they want, however
I won't be making any changes (beyond wiping anyone who doesn't have
the dropdown on their page, which includes myself) to the script anymore.
The second announcement is that i've permanently decided to wipe the
tagboard from my layout altogether, since most of our fan feedback appears
on our mirror site, and the tagboard scripts (i've tried a few) always
seem to have an ad bundled somewhere. So bye bye tagboards!

If you've been stopping by during the past month, you've probably noticed
that the updates have been scattered all over the place. I haven't been
very organized on the update schedule. But I can tell you that you should
see between 2-3 new pages a week regularly. They just won't have fixed
days. Anyways, we reached our 50th page about four pages ago (not that
that's anh huge milestone, but it seems like webcomics either die or
keep going at around fifty pages) and on Friday, we'll be posting the
last page of chapter one. Chapter two should begin not too long after
that. So for those of you who have been reading, we hope you enjoy the
story so far, and keep coming back for more!

I've set up a tBlog account for the comic, which I plan on imbedding
into this page when I get around to it (hopefully this week, or next).
Amazingly enough, there's actually a post on there, already.
I have one last thing to announce- N & J now has a mirror site on
Drunk Duck. So, if this page is unavailable during one of Keenspace's
outtages, all you have to do is visit our mirror to get the latest update.

October has not been a kind month for us, i'm afraid.
Between changing from one ISP to another, and my current workload at
school (i'm set to graduate with my BFA in December- part of my school
workload involves getting my own artwork ready for the BFA graduation
show) has not helped matters. Hence the missed pages for the last week
and a half, which as of now are available on the site.
I'm hoping to get all the remaining pages in Chapter 1 drawn out as
soon as possible. It looks like Chapter One is going to reach *at least*
50 pages in total length) however for the rest of this month (and next
month) our updates may be late. It may mean that instead of uploading
three pages each week, we upload 6-7 pages at a time, twice a month.
Until I know for sure, the update schedule on our pages will be removed.
